Position Title: Facilities Specialist | Application
Purpose of Position: To ensure that the mission and the program life of the church are supported by attending to the facilities, grounds and operations of Unity Church.
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Status: Hourly & Non-Exempt; Benefit-Earning

Qualifications
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Complete assigned tasks independently and effectively.
- Identify tasks that need attention and suggest or initiate action to complete them.
- Use maintenance equipment appropriately and safely.
- Follow building procedures.
- Perform building and grounds work, including safely lifting 50 pounds.
- Work well on a team.
- Communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends for regular and special events.
- Dependably show up for work on time.
- Approach people with cultural sensitivity.
Principal Responsibilities
- Assure that the building and grounds are clean and safe, following the church’s safety and sanitizing protocols.
- Operate and maintain church equipment, tools and supplies.
- Participate in maintenance and capital projects as assigned.
- Complete room setups, tear downs and shift work, following the instructions in the church calendar and daily task lists.
- Communicate with staff, congregants, vendors and visitors about their event location and building needs.
- Maintain situational awareness, knowing what events are happening in the building and appropriate responses to emergencies.
- Attend staff meetings and other scheduled staff events as appropriate.
- Open and/or close the facility – using the security system – as schedule requires.
- Actively seek education and training opportunities in building equipment and systems.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned.
