Unity Church Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of Unity Church-Unitarian represents the congregation in shaping the vision and long-term goals of the church. We ensure the church is externally effective and internally efficient, and we create policy and direction for the Executive Team and church staff.

Trustees serve three-year terms. Three new trustees are elected to the board each year in November. In the fall, the Trustees Nominating Ministry Team collects applications and interviews interested board candidates to select a slate for election by the congregation. Board of Trustees Meeting Times
The Board of Trustees meets in the Anderson Library each month. Meetings alternate between the second Saturday and the third Wednesday of the month. Minutes of each board meeting are posted at right.
The annual congregational meeting is held in November.
Two new trustees started in December, completing the terms of two trustees who had resigned. These new trustees are Terry Linskey (serving one year) and Jennifer Tong (serving two years). Following our bylaws, the Board filled these vacancies in time for them to join in the orientation process with the three new trustees who were elected at the annual meeting — Jill van Koolwijk, Nila Gouldin and Ruth Kirkland. Jill, Nila and Ruth were introduced to the full congregation with biographies in the annual meeting packet; please read the bios for Terry and Jennifer below.
Terry Linskey has been a member of Unity Church for almost 30 years. He currently is a facilitator for Our Whole Lives (OWL) and Finding Yourself at Unity, and a volunteer at Obama Elementary School. Previously, he served on the Board of Trustees. He is a semi-retired executive producer of corporate events who lives in St. Anthony Park with his wife, Lee Carey. They have two grown children, Elizabeth and Peter, and recently welcomed daughter-in-law Kara into the family. Terry is honored to have the opportunity to give back to this congregation that has given so much to his family’s life.
Jennifer Tong originally came to Unity Church eight years ago seeking an R.E. program for her oldest son, and found a community for herself as well. First volunteering to teach in RE, she gradually increased her engagement with the church, with a special interest in racial justice issues. She participated in the project to update the R.E. curriculum, and later joined the ARLT. She is a member of several local volunteer groups, and recently completed a year as a Policy Fellow at the Humphrey Institute. Jennifer works as a project manager in a finance group at Cargill, and lives in St. Paul with her husband Tu and sons Julian and Harlow.
