Third Annual Queer Retreat
Save the date for the third annual Queer Retreat: Saturday, April 4, 2020 (time TBD)! Unity Church is hosting a retreat for all those who identify under the queer and/or trans umbrella, and especially for people who don't fit into the gender binary.
The Queer Retreat is for all people ages 18+ who identify under the LGBTQIAPP2+ umbrella, especially folks whose bodies and/or genders don’t fit into the gender binary. Though rooted in Unitarian Universalism, those of all beliefs and traditions are welcome. Organizers and participants seek to make this space inclusive across cultures and generations by building authentic and sincere relationships.
Food, beverages, and snacks will be provided. Childcare is available upon request. Registration will go out closer to the date.
The organizing team is currently seeking volunteers for a variety of roles! Contact Ray Hommeyer at email@example.com for more information.
Intention Statement: To join together for restoration, community, and joy through spiritual practice, creative expression, and conversation.
Last year at the Queer Retreat, conversations and workshops were centered on the questions, "What medicine are you bringing?" and "What medicine are you needing?" inspired by Emergent Strategy, adrienne maree brown. Shown below is a picture from one of the workshops that involved creating tea jars and bath salts using local herbs.
