Unity Church in the Neighborhood

Unity Church-Unitarian is located within the boundaries of Summit-University District 8 Planning Council (SUPC) [http://summit-u.com/index.htm], one of 17 neighborhood councils in St. Paul. SUPC serves more than 18,000 residents who live within the District 8 boundaries.

Unity Church is currently one of five organizations with a representative on the SUPC board. These five organizations are selected during the council elections each spring. The current Unity Church representative is Martha Tilton.

Like the other neighborhood councils, SUPC is organized as an independent nonprofit corporation that encourages citizen participation in local government. As a grassroots democratic organization, SUPC gathers input from residents on community concerns and forwards advisory opinions to the city government. SUPC is also an important conduit for neighborhood news and events.
