Racial Justice Ministry Team

This ministry team takes time to reflect on issues of racial justice and then acts to establish relationships with interfaith, interracial groups in the neighborhood and beyond. Team members have connected with neighborhood churches by co-hosting an interfaith interracial New Orleans gospel choir visit, co-hosting an interracial "faith float" at the annual Rondo Days Parade and attending events in the community as active participants. The team is also committed to actively working on issues of racial injustice in the larger community.

MLK Holiday Breakfast

_Building Peace and Unity within the Global Community is the theme of the 2012 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Breakfast sponsored by the St. Paul Council of Churches. Hosted by Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, located at 451 Central Ave, the MLK Community Breakfast is scheduled from 7:00-9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 16.
People from Unity Church will join with people in neighborhood communities in this celebration of the life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tickets are required and are available for a suggested donation of $5 per person (children under 12 are free). Unity’s Racial Justice Ministry Team will have a limited number of tickets for sale in the Parish Hall after Sunday morning services in January.
