Ministry with Children and Youth (MCY)

At Unity Church-Unitarian, we strive to help our children, youth and their families live lives of integrity, service and joy. Through our Sunday morning Religious Education programs and our rich landscape of fellowship opportunities, we seek to cultivate in our children both a love of the liberal religious life and a sense of belonging in our Beloved Community.
Thinking of visiting Unity with children?
We're looking forward to your joining us on Sundays! Many rich opportunities are available for children and youth at all three services - 9:00, 11:00 and 4:30. If you have an infant or toddler ages 6 months to 3 years, please take advantage of our nursery care, available free of charge in the lower level of the church.
If you have school-aged children, we have a great deal to offer your family! On the first Sunday that your family visits, however, we recommend that you attend worship together as a family. Quiet activities such as coloring pages are available for young children. Our ushers can provide you with a Visiting Family form, on which you can provide us with information about your children and read more about our Ministry with Children and Youth. After worship, feel free to take a walk through our Religious Education spaces downstairs.
Following your visit, a member of our Religious Education staff will contact you and prepare a warm welcome for your school-aged child in a class of his or her own on the next Sunday that your family attends. Please note that materials fees are waived for four months as your family determines whether membership at Unity is a good fit for you and your children. Simply write "New Family" in the materials fee portion of the registration form.

About our Ministry with Children and Youth
Religious Education takes place during all three services (9:00, 11:00 and 4:30) beginning on September 16, 2007 and continuing through May, 2007. Unity offers loving childcare for infants and toddlers ages 6 months to 2 years 11 months in our Nursery. Formal religious education begins at age 3 and continues through high school. Several times a year, we have a special service of recognition and welcome for families with new babies up to age 18 months called Celebration of New Lives.
Unity families also enjoy many opportunities to enjoy each other’s company. Our fellowship programs include age-specific groups and intergenerational events.
