Volunteering at Unity Church

Community.  Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion

without having the words catch in our throats.  Somewhere a circle of hands

will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate

with us whenever we come into our own power.  Community means strength

that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done.  Arms to hold us

when we falter.  A circle of healing.  A circle of friends.  Someplace where we

can be free.    --Starhawk

Fellowship Groups

Fellowship groups provide many ways for people to come together to form a “community of communities” here at Unity Church. These small groups provide a means to socialize, learn, and explore.

Involvement nurtures community. We are always searching for ways to bring people together in ways that feel right to each individual.  If you do not see a way that feels right for you, talk to  Leon Dunkley at the Church Office.  Create something new!

A New Look at the Bible

This Bible study group uses group and personal exercises creatively to demonstrate that the Bible speaks to religious liberals. Different versions of a biblical text are read and compared; both positive and negative responses are encouraged. Anything goes in this class, where the Bible is not an irrefutable document, but a rich, sometimes puzzling, sometimes transforming resource for understanding and coping with life. The group meets the first Thursday of each month.  Contact: Dave Kaminski

Evergreen Quilt Group

The Evergreen Quilt Group is a group of people who meet monthly to discuss quilting, work on projects, and socialize. No experience is necessary — the group welcomes those who are beginners! The group also features a themed fabric exchange each month. Please visit the website at www.evergreenquilters.com.
