Wellspring Wednesday
Each week, the entire church community is welcome to congregate on Wednesday evenings for a ‘church night’ gathering. This is a time for you
to engage yourself and your family in this religious community and a time to cultivate the values we believe in.
The evening begins with a hot, nutritious meal. It’s a time to gather with friends and family and have some good conversation. After dinner, we come together for a brief time of intergenerational reflection and worship.
Following the worship service, classes and workshops are offered for those of all ages. These opportunities cover a wide range of interests, from lectures to crafts, from classes on UU history to theatrical workshops. Each season’s offerings will be a little bit different — and there will always be a wide variety to choose from.
If organized offerings are not what you are looking for, there is always space for socializing. Age-appropriate activities are available for children and youth, including a homework room for those
who need to do some studying and childcare for those under the age of 3.
Schedule for every Wednesday evening:
6:00: Dinner
6:45: Worship
7:10: Workshops, classes, meetings, and other programming
Cost for Dinner
The cost for dinner is: $6/adult, $4/child ages 5 to 12, $2/child ages 2 to 4, and $18/family, and can be paid by cash or check. (Children under the age of 24 months are free.)
About Signing up for Classes and Workshops
Although many of the lectures for Wellspring Wednesdays need no registration, some of the classes and workshops require people to sign up ahead of time due to material needs or class size limits. Some of these classes have fees; others don’t. Sign up at the table in the Parish Hall on Sundays or at the Church Office during the week.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available to cover the cost of dinners or program fees for those who need it. Contact Justin Schroeder in the Church Office if you need financial assistance to attend Wellspring Wednesdays.
Childcare and Children’s Programming
Please register your child in advance if he or she (ages 6 mos. through junior high school) will be staying through the evening on a Wellspring Wednesday. This helps us to provide appropriate adult supervision in the children’s activity areas. It is requested that parents donate one evening per term to assist with children’s programming for Wellspring Wednesdays. Contact Christy Randall to reserve space or volunteer to assist with programming.
