Happy Holidays!
Hello Friends,
I hope this holiday season finds you well. It's been a while so I
wanted to send a quick update on my progress before I head down to
North Carolina for a few days.
This round of Temodar is progressing smoothly - well, as smoothly can
be expected after a year of chemo. I began again this daily oral
chemotherapy after I was rejected from a promising trial due to an
unexpected genetic restriction - but another trial of the same drug is
starting next month without the same limitations, and my doctor has
promised me entry.
If all continues according to plan, I will be done with Temodar by mid-
January and ready to start the trial. The side effects of the chemo
are at their worst in the morning, so I have gone to a part time
schedule at work for a few weeks. It's nice to be able to focus more
energy on healing and to have time for the many appointments, scans,
acupuncture sessions etc. - but mostly it's just nice to have quiet
wintry mornings to rest and do yoga and read E.L. Doctorow. I am
especially appreciative for my co-workers who have bent over backwards
to accommodate my complicated needs.
An email is not even close to an effective vehicle for the love and
gratitude I have for you all. Thank you as always for your continued
support and may the turning of the year bring you health, happiness
and wonder.
Much Love,
Jonah
