Policy Picnic: Way Beyond Boilerplate
Workshop Description:
Your policies are the centerpiece of your PG operation. They translate your values and vision into concrete statements of operation. In this workshop, participants will:
- Write ends, executive limitations, board governance style, and board/executive relationship policies.
- Establish a PG organizational structure
We tailor this workshop to suit each client’s situation and needs, so not every group works through all these items in one workshop. How much you write or establish depends on your individual circumstances.

Who should attend?
The entire Board and the executive team. Carefully select others to observe, if you need to, limiting the number to limit distractions.
Prerequisites:
A congregation or organization completely committed to PG, as reflected in a Board resolution to adopt it.
Enough connection to your stakeholders that you feel comfortable writing ends (See Step 1 if this isn’t true).
Timeframe:
1.5 days, usually 3 hours on a Friday evening and 6 hours on a Saturday
Cost:
$4,000 for two facilitators, plus costs
